Jobs & documents

Keep every document for a customer together, and export it in one go.

A job keeps everything for one customer in one place: load calculations, single line diagrams, panel schedules, fault current calculations and site photos. Open the job and it is all there together, ready to export, archive or delete in one go.

Find a job

Open Documents in the web dashboard or the mobile app. Your documents are grouped by job. Search by address, customer or job number to find one.

Create a job

You don't have to create a job first. Start any document and pick its address: the job for that address is created for you, and the document is filed under it. If a job for that address already exists, the document joins it.

You can also create one yourself:

  • From Documents: in the mobile app, tap New job and enter the address. On the web, click New on Documents to start a document, then pick its address and the job is created with it.
  • From the camera: pick a job in the camera's job picker, or tap Create job for a new address. See Camera capture.

Add the customer and job number

In a document's Job details, fill in Customer and Job no. They are saved on the job, so the job shows them under its address.

Job no. is for the job number from the other systems you use, like Housecall Pro or ServiceTitan. Copy it in, and searching Documents for that number finds the matching job.

To change a job's address, open the job and click or tap its title.

Add documents to a job

  • Open the job and use its + button to start a new load calculation, diagram, panel schedule or fault current calculation. It is filed under the job from the start. This is optional: a document started anywhere else joins the job as soon as you pick the job's address.
  • In the mobile app you can also start one from the Tools tab. Tap any document to open it, ready to edit.
  • To file an existing document under a job, open the document and pick the job's address. In the mobile app you can also use Attach to job.

Export the whole job

Open the job and choose Download:

  • Combined PDF: the job's documents in one PDF. A document you've switched off with the eye icon in the job is left out.
  • ZIP: every document in the job in one ZIP file.

Exports hold the job's documents only, not its photos, and leave out archived documents. To share a photo, open it in the job's Media gallery and tap Share.

In the mobile app the export goes straight to your phone's share sheet, so you can text, email or save it. To download a single document, open it and click Download.

Archive or delete a job

Open the job's menu:

  • Archive job: archives every document in the job in one step, and the job leaves your active list. Nothing is deleted.
  • Delete job: deletes the job itself, and it cannot be brought back. Its documents and photos are not deleted. They stay in your account, unfiled, ready to file under another job.

You can also archive documents one at a time. Once nothing active is left in a job, with no live documents and no photos, the job leaves your active list on its own.

To find archived jobs, add the Archived filter to the Documents search. Open an archived job and choose Unarchive job to bring back exactly what archiving it put away.

Frequently asked questions

What happens to my documents if I delete a job?

They stay in your account. Deleting a job removes only the job; its documents and photos become unfiled, and you can file them under another job.

Are photos included when I download a job?

No. The combined PDF and the ZIP hold the job's documents only. Photos stay in the job's Media gallery, where you can share them one at a time.

Where do I see a job's photos on the web?

Open Documents, open the job and click Media gallery.

Do I have to create a job before I start a document?

No. Start the document and pick its address, and the job is created for you.

Can I find a job by customer name?

Yes. Search Documents by address, customer or job number.
